How to Make Sachet Bags from Vintage Scarves

Vintage Scarf

There are many colorful scarves to be found and although people don’t really wear scarves anymore, they are still very useful and can easily be re-purposed.

One easy way to re-purpose a vintage scarf is to make sachet bags.  Check for names on the scarf before you start so you don’t end up cutting apart a collectible one!

All you have to do is cut the pieces to the size you want, sew up the sides, fill it with your favorite scented herb and tie if off with a ribbon.   One good size scarf will supply many bags.

* A quick tip to save you some work is to cut the bags a little longer than you want and fold them back down about an inch, before you sew them.  When you turn them right side out again, the folded part will make a finished edge at the top and you won’t have to hem it!
