LET’S GO SHOPPING!

It is easy to go shopping, but a little more difficult to turn a profit.

You will learn quickly what sells and what doesn’t, but you have to give it a  try in order to find out.

That is why we are going to set a limit of $10.00.  That way, if you end up buying something that you paid too much for or doesn’t sell at all, you at least haven’t lost much.

Once you have your $10.00 worth of inventory bought up, take it home and clean it.  If you want to ask a good price, it has to look presentable.

Next, you need to decide how you are going to sell your items.  Here are a few suggestions:

Sell to a dealer. This would make you a picker.  Dealers appreciate the items coming directly to them, instead of having to hunt for them, but remember that they need to make a profit too.  They will not and can not pay full market price for anything.

Sell on eBay. There are many advantages to selling on eBay.  You gain a global market, it is an established business, they make it easy to sell, and it doesn’t take a lot of time.   But remember….you are responsible for presenting your items honestly, providing customer service and packing items well enough to safely get them to the customer.

Sell at a collectibles show. This option gets a bit more expensive and is only a 1-2 day selling opportunity.  However, it does get you out there in front of people with your shiny bright inventory and sometimes you get the chance to buy more stuff!

Sell at a flea market. Depending on the part of the country you live, this may or may not be an option right now.  If you live in the frozen north, like me, flea markets don’t start until about Memorial Day.  Waiting for a flea market would only make you sit on your investment and you won’t know right away if what you are buying is going to sell.  You want to turn your investment over quickly so you can keep buying and making money.

Go out and have some fun, but it can get addicting, so be forewarned!!
