Here’s a cure for your rumbling tummy!
This banana bread can be made with or without the nuts and chocolate chips, but they really add a lot of flavor.
Be sure to use a vintage loaf pan!
Marie’s Banana Bread
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Cream sugar and shortening together. Beat in bananas until smooth. Add eggs, beat until well blended. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Spoon into a greased loaf pan (vintage, remember) and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes.
